      Capt. Stephen A. Oliver was a native of Lynn, Massachusetts, having been born in that City, February 28, 1838. He passed away at his home on Second Avenue in Joliet, January 17th, last [1910], having reached nearly the age of 73 years. He was among the very first to enlist as a soldier in the late Civil War and served his country faithfully until 1863. He was an old resident of Joliet and one of its most prominent business men. His marriage with Miss Carrie A. Luskie, a native of Salem, Massachusetts, took place October 2, 1863. Her death occurred December 29th, last [1909].
