   Death of Mr. Merrill George C. Merrill, one of Joliet’s oldest and most respected residents, died last night at his residence, No. 405 Second avenue.  On Tuesday night, while seated in a chair at his home, Mr. Merrill was stricken with paralysis, and he continued in a critical condition until the time of his death. Mr. Merrill was an employee at the Fox plant.  He leaves a widow and several grown children, besides a large circle of friends, to mourn his departure.  The funeral will be held Friday afternoon from the home at 2:30 o’clock.  Mr. Merrill was an old soldier, and the G.A.R. will participate in the services.  Burial in Oakwood.
