Geo. A. Lang, eldest son of Thos. J. Lang, of Plainfield, met a painful death, Thursday afternoon, June 26, 1888. He was in the employ of the Santa Fe railroad and was under a car fixing it, when the train moved before he could escape, passing over him and crushing one side in a horrible manner. Geo. A. Lang was born in the town of Plainfield fifty years ago last March. He served three years as a member of Co. D, 100th Illinois, and leaves a widow and three children to mourn his untimely cutting off.Published Obituaries:
