Joliet Signal Newspaper, Joliet, Illinois, February 4, 1873;Pg: 4 or 5  Col 1
 Josiah Ingersoll, who inlisted in the old 20th Illinois regiment in 1861, and served faithfully until the end of the war, died at the residence of V.F. Russell Esq., in this city, on the 26th ult[timately], of consumption. Mr. Ingersoll was a son of Mrs. Russell, and was aged 30 years. He contracted the disease which terminated his existence in the service of his country. He was a young man of exemplary habits, and his loss is lamented by a large circle of acquaintances.
