Conrad Gossman, a veteran of the 90th Illinois volunteers in the late war for the Union, died at his residence, on the West Side, last Thursday afternoon, after a long illness. The deceased enlisted in Capt. O'Connor's company, and like his gallient commander, was severely wounded at the battle on Mission Ridge, Tennessee. He was in the thickest of the fight and bravely stood at his post until his body was literally riddled with rebel bullets. He never completely recovered from his wounds, and at last they were the cause of his death. He was about 54 years old, and had seen military service in Europe. His funeral took place Saturday. His remains were interred in the German Catholic cemetery.
