   Samuel D. Goble, aged 74 years, a well known member of the G.A.R., passed away last night at halfpast 8 o’clock at his home, 202 Grant avenue.  The funeral services will be held from the First Christian church on Union street Wednesday afternoon at halfpast 2 o’clock, Bartleson Post G.A.R., No. 140, having charge.  Mr. Goble was born in Henry county, Indiana, in 1832.  He removed to Joliet in 1870.  In 1871 he was married to Miss Annie Hayes, who survives him.  He was employed at the Illinois Steel Co.’s mills for sixteen years, until an accident disabled him.  His war service was with Co. C, 75th U.S. V.I.  He enlisted at Columbus, Ohio, July 29, 1862, and was mustered out in July, 1865.
   Four children are left to lament his loss – Etta E. Vimpeny and Cora E. Miller of Chicago; Bert V. Goble and Edith M. Vimpeny of Joliet.
