Death again makes his appearance, and this time at an early hour in the morning, unannounced, coming like a thief at night, and his victim was Mr. Nelson Flack, of Collins street, and old citizen of Joliet and a brother to Mortimer Flack. He was found by the servant girl this morning lying on the kitchen floor near the stove, dead. Mr. Flack had always taken upon himself the duty of rising early in the morning and making the fire in the kitchen stove. He would afterwards awaken the servant girl. For some time he had been afflicted with rheumatism, and it is supposed that the disease has gone to his heart, thus causing his death.
On this occasion the servant girl awoke later than usual, and not knowing whether or not she had been called, she hurriedly dressed and went to the kitchen. On opening the door she was horrified to see Mr. Flack lying on the floor beside the stove, dead. She at once notified his mother. The coroner was telegraphed for and arrived within an hour, and together with Mortimer Flack, repaired to the residence of the deceased. The family and relatives considered it unnecessary for an inquest, as the deceased was know to have been afflicted with rheumatism of the heart and they felt satisfied it was that which cased his death.
Mr. Flack was fifty-eight years of age, and unmarried. His parents came to this State in 1845, and they have resided in this city nearly all this time. Nelson, however, lived in California eight years of this time. He was making his home at the time of his death with his mother on Collins street. The funeral will take place Friday. The hour has not yet been set, owing to the fact that several parties have been telegraphed for, who are expected to be here to attend the funeral.

Died
FLACK—At the home of his mother on Collins street, at and early hour on Wednesday morning, Nelson W. Flack, aged 58 years, brother of Mort Flack.
Mr. Flack had been suffering severely from rheumatism several days previous to his death. On the morning named it appears he became cold and rose very early to build a fire. This was nothing unusual for him, but when the girl of the house got up, she discovered Mr. Flack prostrate with his head resting in the ashpan. Upon his head were marks showing that he had first fallen against the stove or ashpan.
Mr. Flack was born in Essex Co., NY, is a single man and has lived in Joliet 35 years. He served as a private in the famous 100th regiment in the late war.  The gentleman was of much comfort to his mother now 82 years old, who mourns his death grievously.
