         " ...There are least four members of the local post [Frederick A. Bartleson G.A.R. Post, Joliet, IL]  who are 80 years of age or older.
Perhaps the oldest is L. G. Edgerly, 104 Lincoln street, 87 years.  He came from New Hampshire and enlisted in the 739^th [typo - should be 139th] Illinois in 1864.  He served until October of that year.  He is the father-in-law of Attorney J.L. O’Donnell. ..."
