    Amos Dodge was born in Orland, Vermont, January 31st, 1835, and when but ten years old came to Will county with his parents. They settled at first in Dupage township, but after a few years went to Homer township, which was thereafter his home. At the breaking out of the Civil War, he enlisted in the 100th Illinois Regiment, and did good service until the close of the war. He died at his home in Homer April 6th, last [1909].
