      Samuel Barber, a veteran of the civil war was with Sherman on his march to the sea, is dead aged 73.  The end came last night at his home, 410 Webster Street, after an illness of a month.  The cause of Mr. Barber's death was Bright's disease, and the news of his passing was expected by his friends.
       Mr. Barber was born in Sumer Hill, New York, in 1837, and coming west as a young man, enlisted at Morris in 1862.  He leaves besides his widow, four children, Mrs. G.P. Washburn, of Chadron, Neb., Dr. M.C. Barber of Shulsburg, Wis, Mrs. E. H. Werner, of Joliet, and Mrs. C. Werli of Chicago.  The funeral arrangements have not been completed.

       Comrades of Bartleson Post, G.A.R. and all old soldiers are requested to attend the funeral of our late Comrade Samuel J. Barber at his late residence, corner Scott and Webster street at 2 0'clock. Thursday, June 16, 1910
         G.A.R. services will be held at cemetery.  A full attendance is desired
